"STRASBOURG - The European Parliament rejected the second reading of the proposal to increase the working week in the European Union until to 65 hours. All the work of the committee amendments were approved by a majority exceeding the required 393 votes, being the measure on second reading. A decision which effectively rejected the attempt by the EU Council to introduce the possibility of exceptions to the limit of 48 hours per week. "
A parliament that is still of some use.
